Blizzard, the developer of Diablo 4, has provided clarification regarding who will have access to the Premium Battle Pass without charge.
On June 17, Adam Fletcher, the community manager for Diablo 4, took to Twitter to address any confusion surrounding the upcoming battle pass for the game. According to Fletcher, players who have purchased the Digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Diablo 4 will receive one unlock for the Premium Battle Pass. This unlock can be activated through the Battle Pass menu after starting a seasonal character.
To provide further clarity, Fletcher also stated that those who fall into this category will be able to claim the premium battle pass for season 1. Season 1 is scheduled to launch on July 20, coinciding with the release of the battle pass. Alternatively, players can choose to save the unlock for a future season. Diablo 4 players also took advantage of this opportunity to pose additional questions about the upcoming battle pass.

According to the replies to Fletcher’s tweet, if you have purchased multiple deluxe editions of Diablo 4 (e.g., one for console and one for PC), you will receive two unlocks for the Premium Battle Pass. These unlocks can be used in both season 1 and a future season at a later date. Fletcher also mentioned in a response to another tweet that the release times for season 1 will be announced “in the coming days,” so stay tuned for that information.
If you didn’t purchase one of these versions of the game, there’s no need to worry. You can still obtain the Premium Battle Pass, but it will come at a cost of 1,000 Platinum ($9.99 / £8.39). Additionally, there is an option for the Accelerated Battle Pass, which is already accessible to Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition players. The Accelerated Battle Pass can be purchased for 2,800 Platinum ($24.99/£20.99).
