Alex Morgan Reacts To Major USWNT Honor Before World Cup

As the 2023 World Cup approaches later this month, Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan have been appointed as captains for the United States women's national team.

Horan took to Instagram to share this exciting news with her fans.

"Honored doesn't even begin to express it," Horan expressed. "I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity, particularly to have the chance to do it alongside my friend Alex Morgan. Let's go!"

Morgan made the same announcement on her Instagram account, opting for a few emojis instead of a heartfelt message.

Morgan is preparing herself for her fourth World Cup appearance. She was a vital member of the victorious squads in both 2015 and 2019.

As you'd expect, Morgan is fired up for this year's event.

"My aim is to have the most significant influence on this team, both on and off the field.

I want to provide guidance to younger players who haven't experienced a major tournament before, giving them an idea of what to anticipate.

I have already had conversations with some of the other seasoned players, including Rapinoe, about how we can unite and foster a seamless collective dynamic as we progress through this World Cup."
