ESPN Insider Has Unfortunate Lamar Jackson Update

Earlier this week, the Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Initially, the NFL world thought a bidding war would break out for Jackson's services. Over the past few days, however, several teams have bowed out of the sweepstakes.

During an appearance on Keyshawn, JWill and Max, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler provided an update on Jackson's situation.

Fowler has been told by multiple teams that it's possible Jackson goes this offseason without receiving an offer.

"I don't expect him to sign the tag. I don't expect teams to make offers here soon," Fowler said. "I talked to multiple teams who predict that no team will make an offer, as crazy as it sounds."

The thought of Jackson not receiving an offer is absurd. He's a former MVP who's only 26 years old.

There are so many quarterback-needy teams in the NFL that would certainly improve by acquiring Jackson.

That being said, Jackson may want a fully-guaranteed contract. Teams aren't willing to meet that demand, especially after the Browns foolishly outbid themselves for Deshaun Watson last offseason.
